« Real Estate as taught does not work and has never worked ».

Shocking statement? Definitely
Accurate? Absolutely
Did you know that to become a plumber, one has to take courses totalling 1,500 hours over a 13 months period? They then receive an "apprentice" card; they then must work for 6,000 hours (four years) as apprentices to obtain their full fledged card.
In our industry, after a few hundred hours of theoretical courses, the average broker is left to fend off by himself, often learning through trial and errors. Published data from Real Estate Boards and regulatory bodies show that seven out of ten licensees leave the business in their first year. Even with the best intent, owner/managers and large firms only offer sporadic and superficial training. After all, brokers are independent contractor are they not?
The average broker in Quebec, as in the rest of North America, makes between eight and twelve transactions per year. Much below the expectations you had when you chose Real Estate as a career. Even worse, most brokers work seven days a week and as such, have little or no social or family life. Yet you chose Real Estate to have more freedom as well as financial independence.
One definition of insanity is: to keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different result. So what's next?
OSE Real Estate Coaching offers a unique coaching program which will allow you to acquire the necessary skills needed to become the professional you always dreamed you were. You will learn to see yourself as a professional and understand that you are in business. There is an enormous distinction between being an "independent contractor" and being "in business". You will learn the sales process; to be a salesperson because that is who you are. You will learn to define goals that are measurable and quantifiable. You will learn to master your market and list at the right price. You will significantly increase the number of transactions you do every year. |
